i made cute little spring cupcakes for my friends tonight:
plain vanilla with light blue buttercream topping and very cute little marzipan carrots that had been sitting in my cupboard for a while and otherwise would have suffered a quite unfulfilling destiny.
my camera is abysmal, i know.
it's only my second go at them, and they're pretty nice. i'm not completely satisfied with the buttercream... it should be a bit fresher somehow. i've been looking for a recipe for buttercream that uses yoghurt, but i haven't found much yet. maybe it's also partially the artificial vanilla flavour, i'll try a real vanilla pod next time :)

for further amusement i strongly recommend googling for pictures of wedding cupcakes.
you know, wedding cupcakes are such a cute thing, quirky and contemporary and still somehow classy.
maybe an idea for our own wedding in spring '12?
